Information

INFORMATION: The Carrboro Land Use Ordinance rewrite is underway.  Over the course of the last few months, CodeWright, the consultant firm hired to rewrite the Town’s development code has met with the mayor and town council, department heads and members of the development community.  CodeWright is now in the process of completing a series of participant listening sessions with key members of the public.

The purpose of the work session is twofold.  First to provide the council with an opportunity to receive an update directly from the consultant team: a status report on where we are in the process, an overview of questions/responses from the interviews/participant sessions, and a description of the next steps.  The presentation may also include some clarification on role of the development code to implement the vision and goals outlined in the comprehensive plan and related questions regarding planning processes.

The work session will also provide information on upcoming public meetings and website development.  Planning Department has been working closing with Community Engagement to create a new social pinpoint page on the Town’s website for the rewrite and to prepare for the first community forum events tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 20th and Saturday, February 22nd.  Both events would be held in Town Hall.
