Council Direction Statement
As part of the Carrboro Connects implementation project, the Town is replacing its current Land Use Ordinance with a new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). This updated UDO will reflect the goals outlined in the comprehensive plan, including advancing racial equity and addressing climate change. The new ordinance is designed to make development and regulatory processes more predictable and easier to navigate, with a particular emphasis on increasing the availability of affordable and attainable housing in Carrboro. Race and Equity Pocket Questions were discussed during the February 11 work session and are included again as Attachment B. Updated Pocket Questions will be shared with the Town Council in future phases of the project.
