INFORMATION: On May 10th the Town received authorization from NCDOT to advertise the bicycle loop detector project (TIP# U-4726DF) which involves the installation of bicycle detection at four signalized intersections, three in the downtown area and the fourth at the north intersection of NC 54 and West Poplar Avenue. Bicycle detection at signalized intersections allows for bicyclists stopped at a red light to call for a green light by positioning their bicycles over a detector.
