Council Direction Statement
Completion of the Homestead Road-Chapel Hill High School Multiuse path (Homestead-CHHS-MUP) has been a long-standing goal of the Town. The path has been in use since 2018, connecting the community with a safe route to school. The Town has committed to improving walkability and bikeability through adding greenways as detailed in the Comprehensive Plan. Pocket questions are provided as Attachment B.

INFORMATION: On June 26, 2018, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen authorized staff to submit a TIP amendment to allocate $194,660 of local discretionary (Federal STBG-DA funds) to the Homestead Road-CHHS MUP; the amount included the required 20-percent local match of $38,932 (Town of Carrboro - Meeting of Board of Aldermen on 6/26/2018 at 7:30 PM (legistar.com)). The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) Board approved the amendment on August 8, 2018.
