Information
INFORMATION: The applicant/property owner, Harris Teeter, has requested an extension for the Special Use Permit-A (SUP-A) for Phase 1 of the Lloyd Farm development, which contains the retail portion of the 34-acre mixed-use development. This includes the construction of a Harris Teeter grocery store, outbuildings and related infrastructure (i.e., roads, sidewalks, etc.). The SUP-A is currently scheduled to expire on October 24, 2025. Attachment C includes information about the request
The Town Council originally granted the Special Use Permit-A on October 22, 2019, and has subsequently granted two permit extensions (in 2021 and 2023). If approved, this third request would extend the permit until October 24, 2027.
Background (Staff will provide a brief review of the Lloyd Farm approval process at the meeting.)
The site plan for the entire 34.5-acre assemblage was approved as part of a conditional zoning in October 2018 after multiple years of meetings with Council members and neighbors, including a series of facilitated mediation meetings during the summer of 2015.
