INFORMATION: The Town has received a petition for voluntary annexation for the 36.7-acre property located along the east side of Old NC 86, known as the Jade Creek development. The property can be more specifically identified by the information below:

A map showing the property is attached, along with the petition, which Town Clerk Lamar Joyner has found to be complete (Attachments B and C). The property area to be annexed is contiguous to the Town's municipal boundary; the development is subject to a special use permit-A that was recently approved for a residential subdivision. If the Town Council is interested in proceeding to set a public hearing for consideration of the petition, staff will prepare public notice and hearing materials. The annexation is a necessary step before the final plat can be recorded, and individual homes constructed and sold.
