Council Direction Statement
Completion of the Jones Creek Greenway, a transportation infrastructure project identified in the Comprehensive Plan and Bike Plan will provide an off-road bike/pedestrian facility to allow children to walk, bike and roll to Morris Grove Elementary School with their families, thereby advancing the Town's goals toward climate action. INFORMATION: The Town has engaged Wetherill Engineering for preliminary design services for the Jones Creek Greenway, a one-hundred-foot bridge and paved greenway trial between Lake Hogan Farm Road and the County's Twin Creeks Greenway. Staff has been working with the Town Attorney to finish the necessary easements for right-of-way certification, but some additional work is needed, in part because of some changes in property ownership. The contract for Wetherill Engineering is scheduled to expire at the end of 2024, a contract extension is necessary to complete the preliminary design and associated bid documents (construction plans, specification manual, and permits).
