Advancing Racial Equity and Climate Action are foundational commitments of the Town's comprehensive plan, Carrboro Connects, adopted in June 2022. Revisions to the Town's Land Use Ordinance to support plan goals and strategies are included in the plan's top 35 priority projects.

Information
INFORMATION: In June 2024, the Town released a Request for Proposals seeking professional services for a Land Use Ordinance. Five responses were received and evaluated by a panel composed of the Assistant Town Manager, Interim Finance Director, Public Works Director, Chief Race and Equity Officer, Economic Development Director, Planning and Transportation Administrator, Planning Director, Development Review Administrator, and Stormwater Utility Manager. Two proposing teams were selected for interviews. Based on the proposals, evaluation, and interviews, the review panel recommends the team of CodeWright Planners, in conjunction with Civility Localized, McAdams, City Collective, Fox-Rotschild, and Noell Consulting, for this work.
The professional services to be provided by the consultant team will include Project Initiation and Coordination, Engagement, Market and Development Potential Assessments, Code Diagnosis, and Drafting.
