A Resolution Setting the Date for the 2016 Legislative Breakfast for the Short Session
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to request that the Board of Aldermen set the date for the 2016 Legislative Breakfast.

INFORMATION: Monday, March 14, 2016 has been identified as the date to host the annual Legislative Breakfast. The event will begin at 7:30am and take place in the Town Hall Board Room. A future meeting agenda will be scheduled to discuss possible legislative issues for the short session.
The 2015 Regular Session of the 2015 General Assembly adjourned September 30, 2015. The adjournment resolutions provide that the Senate and House of Representatives stand adjourned to reconvene on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. The session held in the second (even) year of the biennium is commonly called the “Short Session.”
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: The financial impact will be associated only with the cost of providing breakfast and drinks during the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:r Town staff recommends that the Board approve the resolution setting a date for the 2016 Legislative Breakfast.
