INFORMATION: In November 2015 the Town entered into a contract with VHB, a transportation planning firm in Raleigh, to undertake a parking study. To date, VHB has developed a survey <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ParkCarrboro>, a project website <http://parkcarrboro.org/>, conducted occupancy rate data collection at public and private lots in the study area, collected length-of-stay data at Town-owned and leased lots, started the analysis; and held a public kick-off meeting.  A link to the video of the presentation <http://parkcarrboro.org/mediacenter.aspx?VID=4> at the kick-off meeting is posted on the project website. Tasks scheduled for April include the walkability audit; stakeholder interviews with downtown business owners and residents; public outreach at Farmers Market, Coffee with a Cop, and other local venues; Saturday occupancy and length-of-stay data collection; and loading zone, park and ride, and bicycle parking data collection. There will also be mid-point public meeting in June or July.

Timothy Tresohlavy, the project manager from VHB, will provide more detailed information on the status to date of the study and initial findings from the field data collection and survey responses.
