INFORMATION: Town and Farmers' Market staff have developed the proposed road closure to accommodate the Carrboro Farmers' Market during the upcoming Town Commons renovation. The proposed closure has been approved by Town emergency services, O2 Fitness and White Oak Apartments. The Farmers' Market has received approval from both O2 Fitness and White Oak Apartments to utilize a portion of their parking lots for vendors to park while setting up shop on Fidelity St. A half lane of Fidelity St will remain open from Bim St to the first entrance of White Oak Apartments to allow access for emergency vehicles. Farmers' Market staff has confirmed that the allocated area will provide enough space for vendors, especially during the winter when vendor and customer turnout is reduced.

In accordance with Section 7-19 of the Town Code, a Public Hearing to receive public input prior to issuing a Street Closing Permit is required for this event.

The applicant will provide Public Works with the required insurance 30 days prior to the event.


FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: The applicant will be responsible for all costs incurred by Public Works and Police to facilitate this event. The applicant will be sent an itemized bill for the final costs incurred by Police and Public Works. The applicant also has the right to utilize a company p...
