INFORMATION: The Town Code gives the Arts Committee the directive to develop a policy for selection of public art. The Committee has developed the attached policy to guide the Town in encouragement, selection, and implementation in works of Public Art in or near Town buildings, parks, trails, and other publicly-owned land and facilities. The policy provides guiding principles, a short list of definitions, and a selection process. This policy is necessary because the Town is frequently approached with public art ideas and funding request, this policy provides a framework for responding to those requests.
FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: There is no additional fiscal or staff impact in developing this policy.
RECOMMENDATION:r The Arts Committee has reviewed and recommends the Board adopt the attached policy. Staff recommends the Board consider the attached resolution.
