Retreat Discussion
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to allow the Board of Aldermen to further discuss the retreat scheduled for January 26, 2019.

INFORMATION: At the request of Alderman Haven-O’Donnell, this item was scheduled for the Board to have an update and discuss the retreat. At this time, the retreat has been scheduled for January 26, 2019 at the Carolina Inn. Staff have been working through the Town’s attorneys, the NCLM, and the UNC SOG for a list of possible facilitators and mediators. A few Aldermen have also provided names for possible facilitators. At this time, we have interviewed two possible facilitators; one from the UNC SOG and the other from the NC Academy of Superior Court Mediators. We will hear from the latter on her availability by Tuesday, December 4th. If she is available, we would like to recommend her for the services.
Once the facilitator has been chosen, they will reach out to all Board Members individually to speak with you prior to the retreat.

RECOMMENDATION:r It is requested that the Board provide any direction to staff that is requested.
