Budget Amendment - Contributions for Active Life Programs and Memorial Bench
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to recognize and appropriate $5,000 contribution made to the Town to support the Recreation and Parks Department’s Active Life Programs; $1,300 contribution for a memorial bench in Town Commons.

INFORMATION: The Town has been awarded $5,000 by Carol Woods to support the Recreation and Parks Department’s Active Life programs. Also, The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Inc. has contributed $1,300 to establish a memorial bench in Town Commons.
These contributions are restricted to the purpose(s) as stated by the donor. They cannot be used for any other purpose, unless authorized by the donor.
The attached amendment to the annual budget ordinance adopted by the Town on June 18, 2019 increases the revenues and expenditures by the above amount.

RECOMMENDATION:r Staff recommends that the Town Council approve the attached budget amendment (Attachment A).
