DEPARTMENT: Mayor

CONTACT INFORMATION:  Mayor Lydia Lavelle

INFORMATION: Mayor Lavelle plans to issue a proclamation celebrating this anniversary in August (the amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920; Women’s Equality Day is celebrated on is August 26, 2020).   She asked that this item be added to the agenda for the Town Council to discuss. One thought she had was possible referral to staff to bring to the Arts Committee. She thought that it would be fitting to ask the Arts Committee if they have an interest in taking the lead on artistic ways to celebrate the milestone. If the Arts Committee would like to take this on, they could decide to report back to the Town Council at a later date.

FISCAL & STAFF IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with the Town Council reviewing this agenda item. If authorized, a fiscal and staff impact will be associated with the work of the Arts Committee.

RECOMMENDATION:r It is recommended that the Town Council review this proposal and discuss this item with Mayor Lavelle if there are any questions.
