Council Direction Statement
The Town Council follows the Advisory Board Recruitment and Appointment Policy which was adopted on 11-21-2017. Text amendments to this policy were approved by the Town Council on 12-1-2020 and 4-13-2021, respectively, to the section entitled "Composition" which related to expanding the racial and ethnic diversity on advisory boards and commissions. It should be noted that the Advisory Board Recruitment and Appointment Policy has been evaluated using the Racial Equity Lens tool which was finalized in May 2023. A copy of this completed lens is attached here as Attachment D.

INFORMATION: The Climate Action Team is composed of 13 members. Members shall be residents, business owners, or employees in the Town or extraterritorial planning jurisdiction or the Town's joint planning transition area. All such members shall be interested in or have expertise relevant to the duties of the CAT.
* At least one member should have experience related to community organizing or environmental justice.
* One seat should be reserved for a Carrboro resident currently enrolled in public, private, or home school at the high school level.
Tilly Pick is the chair and is up for reappointment. Mr. Pick is a 5-year resident of Carrboro and is an Account Manager for Deque Systems, Inc. Tilly has been a long-time environmental activist and wants to help put the Climate Action Plan in to action.
